It was my day to be solitary.
The ripples created by pebbles were still circling around the water, each at a time before extending its circumference and vanishing among the long streched shore.
The relic of the uncharted past was still there exposing its wounds to the ignorance of this mankind.
The air smelled of the sea. There was a tinge of earthly smell that I’ve grown much unaware of all these years but magically still in the present time it qenches my deepest entrails with a strange kind of loneliness, that cannot be fulfilled by anyone anymore.
I stare at the horizon, aimlessly watching the patches of clouds just like me, floating about into nothingness. They were too weak to form a storm, and too strong to disappear. They hung about mid sky rearranging themselves into the void.
My mind has always fought my inner demons suppressing them to the point, where they are compelled to be the trespassers of my own soul. They are so obscure to me that I sometimes wonder, they are like a nasty virus beyond any medication which when attack, all they are concerned about is annihilating my inner peace and conquering my conscience.
The chaos in my mind has left a hefty silence, so unbearable that sometimes I wish for my departure to some parallel universe. Yet the irony of life smirks from some distant coners, eyes wide and lips curled into a force smile.
This reminds me of something I read long back in the past when these words were placed beside each other in haste devoid of any meaning.
While looking at the seagulls flying peacefully through the stretch of blue I mutter the words repeatedly under my breath,
That which does not
kill us, makes us stronger.
Slowly, the sky was painted with streakes of reddish orange in the vast strech of blue. The dominant colour faded away only to bathe the sky with the orange glow.
The homecoming call of the seagulls in the distance filled the air and along with the call of the others. The eagle cried in his shrill voice as he plunged into the water one last time to catch his prey.
I watched them until the chaos of this busy day slowly settled down into a comfortable silence, as the darkness embraced the world and filled it with a strange kind of solitude.
delightfully reflective and your messy mind echoes most of us … keep writing please π

Take it from an old geezer: you show maturity beyond your age because you donβt live on the surfaceβ¦.and take it from an old humorist that βThe young person who has not wept is a savage, and the old person who will not laugh is a foolβ (attributed to George Santayana). In other words, take life seriously, yourself not too much. π

You writing is so beautiful. I loved the part where you described the cloud as weak enough to not create the storm and strong enough from departure. Brilliant.

Solitude is silent , it is yours. It gives a chance to go deeper into ur aloneness. It is a means of meditation. Don’t let it drown u .witness it , it is a good friend.
That’s my experience of solitude
Anyways ..thanks again for such a lovely read β€β€
