Waqt Ki Bateein ( Talk of The Time)

This song starts with the voices floating around. Those voices that we put up against ourselves like the reflecting surface of a mirror we see through. The more they take up all those unrequited space in us the more this air gets asphyxiated. Can we really measure people against people? For me we are unique in our own way. A uniqueness that wears and tears, gets unkempt if not taken care of. The way we nurture them, the way we let them grow despite all this hindrance, all this self doubt, all these blurred lights still longing to go back home displays our true value. A value, we hold between our palms and keep it secure somewhere. Sometimes obscure to your own self, sometimes though you stumble, you are never doubtful about the road you take.

The song starts, with a beautiful melodious piano, a nurturing sound, that makes the world fall silent for a while as the lyrics follow….

 “Mana Dil Dara Dara Hai

Toota Ye Zara Zara Hai

Dil Ke Iss Bavandar Ko

Thair Jaane Dooo…”

Perhaps, this song reminds us about acceptance. About all those failures we are clinging on with knuckled red. Too afraid to let go, too afraid to let the seasons change. This song subtly holds us with its open arms, helping us stand up, dusting those bruised knees that have crossed warzones behind. The impalpable war zones that have wounded us into oblivion which apparently seems endless.

This song is a message to everyone struggling, everyone who is finding it difficult to spend those mundane days without walking across barbed wire, and everyone who has given up, that it is okay to let go sometimes. It is okay, to loosen those knuckles that have fainted into white, it is okay to find a new place among those unknown faces and make a home out of it. Once again.
